Miniature Horses  -  “How they’re the same only different”

Miniature horses are actual copies of full sized horses (only smaller).

But when it comes to health care, nutrition and breeding, minis have special issues and they can’t be
looked at as just another smaller horse.

When it comes to diseases, nutrition and breeding, minis are affected by their size, and unique physiological and metabolic demands.
 

Treating, feeding and caring for minis in the same manner as you would for full sized horses often have bad consequences.

Unfortunately many owners and breeders, even some vets treat them all the same.
 

That’s exactly why we thought it was important to have a supplement line dedicated to our miniature horses.  They deserve it and they need it.

 Our natural supplements take into account the differences between minis and full sized horses

Some of the differences we considered when formulating our supplements are:

• mini foals have issues with soft tissue laxity and patellar luxation (DODs) not like full sized foals
   
• many minis have hoof imbalances
   
• minis have high risk of hyperlipemia and hepatic lipidosis
   
• abortions and difficult deliveries in pregnant miniature mares
   
• there’s a greater incidence of colic from fecaliths and enteroliths
   
• hypocalcemia (low levels of calcium in the blood) in nursing mares
