The story behind Horse Moms
Horse Moms 1st started with the development of a software product called Equus-RX or as we affectionally like to call it the “equine nutrition wizard”.
It’s like good health insurance for your horse and was designed to make nutrition, health and conditioning easier for horse owners.
My software has been used by horse owners, educational facilities & universities all over the planet.
But there was a catch...
The software identified the nutritional needs of horses but it wasn’t clear about the best form of nutrition or the best supplements to use based on a thorough understanding of your horse life stage or type.
We were able to identify a lot of under and over supplemented horses but the real question our clients asked was,
“What is the best and safest way we can make sure that
we’re feeding our horses the best nutrition?”
That started me on a quest to research and test all the available supplements to find out what worked, what was safe and what was the most appropriate for my horses.
I’ll be adding more details on the differences in supplements and what to be aware of in our resource library shortly.
Bottom line... My extensive research led me to the use of natural and organic supplements blended to meet your individual horses type and life stage.
This has proven the most effective for my horses and for me personally as well.
I’m sure that comes as no surprise...
Especially with all the positive testing and research attention “all natural”
and “organic” is getting in the press these days.
As a horse mom you’ll need to educate yourself on the terms of “feed grade” (meets standard for animal consumption) even human & pharmaceutical grade (pharma grade is made with acetone and
keto-acid).
Briefly the lower the grade the more “fillers” and things the manufacturer can put into the supplement.
And feed grade meets the lowest criteria so there’s a host of cheap potentially unhealthy ingredients that can be added to that category.
The government allows the lowest standard of care for animals.

On a more personal note...
My love for horses started with a mixed breed pony called Chippie. I was 6…
I had relentlessly begged, pleaded and cajoled my parents into letting me have a horse.
Finally it happened. The 1st time I saw Chippie I was smitten.
Our Responsibility
You’re horse relies on you to take care of him (or her).
How well you do that effects your horse and effects you.

At least that’s the way we see it.
We have a responsibility to our horses (and your horses to) to take care if them and it’s not unlike how we would take care of our own children.

It’s about help… the horse moms way.
We work hard to create natural products that won’t hurt or harm your horse but will help them be healthy, more comfortable and perform better naturally.
Our culture isn’t flashy or fancy... just highly motivated to do the right thing for our brand and our loyal clients both human and horse.
Our Research and Development
It’s all about natural products.
Certainly we could take the easy way out and order truck loads of chemically created supplements (pharmaceutical grade) or poke around the cheap, low grade, low priced animal grade ingredients that are so easy to find.
Short term it would be easier and cheaper but we just couldn’t live with ourselves.
